A question, a problem, an idea? Write to me; I usually reply within 48 hours, in English or French.

For a quick answer, include

• your Caviar version (Caviar menu › About Caviar);
• your macOS version (Apple menu › About This Mac);
• what you did, what you expected, what happened;
• if possible a screenshot, with no personal data visible.

Never send the document itself if it contains personal data. If the problem only shows with a specific document, describe it, or reproduce it on a made-up document.

Frequently asked questions

Some data was not detected

Draw the area by hand in the editor, or add the word to your list of always-redacted words in Settings. Tell me the format (not the real value) so detection can improve.

The export is refused

Caviar refuses to write a file when an area is not fully black in the final image. This is a safety check. Write to me with the message shown.

The document asks for a password

Caviar opens password-protected PDFs: enter the password when asked. It is never stored or sent.
